How do the events in your life sit beside each other to lend insight into something bigger? In this participatory lecture series, vulnerability, humour and connection are guiding values as participants dive into personal moments big and small. Participants will work from creative prompts to accumulate material, and learn storytelling structure and performance techniques to help them deliver their own story with a sense of confidence and play.
Emily Pearlman is an award winning theatre artist and educator who makes live experiences that bring together intergenerational groups of people and develops their relationships to place and each other. She has co-created over 30 performance works in collaboration with theatre makers, dancers, musicians, audio-makers, schools, and communities. She is an Artistic Associate at the Ottawa Children’s Festival, has taught new play development and solo theatre creation at The University of Ottawa and Algonquin College, and has toured four of her own solo storytelling shows across Canada.
